One part of the Totus Tuus Youth Program is to ask parishioners to volunteer to either have a meal at their home for the Team (4 college students) or to take them out to dinner, OR you can bring a dinner for them to the parish hall for them to enjoy. If you (or you and a friend paired up) would like to do this, please call the office, 573-885-3520. (Leave a message if after hours) Supper should be planned to be around 5:30 p.m. Date Needed are: July 13 Saturday Supper July 14 Sunday Lunch July 14 Sunday Supper July 15 Monday Supper July 16 Tuesday Supper July 18 Thursday Supper July 19 Friday Supper Snacks and Lunch for the morning students and the team is already planned. Snacks for the evening dinners are already planned as well. Wednesday’s Supper is a potluck dinner for all the Parishioners. – More details on that to follow. Volunteer Help is also needed to for both the morning and evening classes. This could include helping with signing in/out students, dismissal, serving snacks, etc… If you can help in anyway, please call the office. Monday – Friday 8-3 or leave a message.
Installation of our New Priest – Fr. Dan Lueckenotte: All are welcome and invited to Father Dan Lueckenotte’s installation service at Holy Cross Church on June 30th at 2:00 p.m. Immediately following is a meet and greet ice cream social in the Parish Hall.
Our Bishop of Jefferson City, Shawn McKnight, has decreed that the celebration of our diocesan patronal feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary be transferred from Saturday June 29 to the weekend Masses for June 29-30—replacing the 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time. So when you come to Mass this weekend (June 29th & 30th) the readings will NOT be in the missal.
Who’s ready for BBQ? Our Knights of Columbus 8920 will be having our annual delicious barbecue, pork steak and brats, pulled pork and hot dogs for the kids and all the trimmings. This year it will be on Friday, July 5th and Saturday, July 6th at Mace’s Supermarket parking lot in Cuba. All BBQ proceeds go to our Scholarships. Come and enjoy a good meal.
Help in July to Move School Furniture in July: During the weeks of July 19th – August 3rd the parish hall/ school will have their floors stripped and waxed. We would like to get a group of volunteers who would be willing to help move items, when needed, to and from classrooms while the floors are being serviced. Please call the office if you would like to help. 573-885-3520 Mon-Fri 8-3 Many hands make light work, hopefully we can get a good group of people to help, so it will not take long to move the items!

Mark your calendars and consider helping! Crawford County Fair Parade – July 9th. Would you be interested in making a float and walking the parade to represent our Catholic Parishes? Totus Tuus: July 14-19 at Holy Cross Ministerial Alliance Community Meal – July 18th. This is a free dinner for all in our community held at the Lion’s Club in Cuba every 3rd Thursday of the month. Holy Cross 1st Day of School – August 15th Golf Tournament – September 7th at the Cuba Lakes Country Club. Contact Marcia Paton 573-259-3357 for early registration. Fall Festival – September 15th this year will be held at the KC Hall.

Operation Clean Stream is a park and river clean-up throughout the Meramec watershed, sponsored by the Open Space Council for the St. Louis Region. Volunteers will participate in canoes and boats, as well as in nearby parks and trails. We work to undo damage caused throughout the year by flooding, careless littering, and the unlawful dumping of trash. This year, Operation Clean Stream will take place on Saturday, August 24th, 2019, and participants are invited to help us improve water quality and wildlife habitats in our region’s open spaces. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) If you or if you know of someone who is inquiring about the Catholic Church, please give the name to Sister Karen. The Inquiry sessions begin at the end of August. These Adult sessions are for any adult who is not baptized, has not received their First Holy Communion or has not been confirmed in the Catholic Faith. While we can't invite everyone to the reception, Ordinations are always public events... Our next priest ordination will be Saturday June 29th at the Cathedral of St Joseph in JEFFERSON City at 10am to pray for Deacon Brad Berhorst as he is ordained. Bring your family to pray for him, who knows, in 8-20 years your son might by lying on the floor as the people of God ask for the intercession of all the saints for him!

The children of Holy Cross School performed a Christmas play, on December 14th. More than 175 families, friends, and fellow parishioners attended the performance called “Emoji Christmas”. Hats off to the children and staff that worked so hard to create such a wonderful show. After the play a specail visitor came, Santa. Santa visited with all the children and gave them candy canes after listening to what they wanted for Christmas. - Thank you Santa. Also thank you to The Sounds of DJ “P” for donating and setting up the audio system in the parish hall. It made a world of difference this year for the school play!
Long time tradition at Holy Cross School. The children and techers march around the school to the song "When the Saints Go Marching In" dressed up as a Saint, to celbrate All Saints Day.

Wednesday, October 4, the Holy Cross Students celebrated the Feast Day of St. Francis the patron saint for Peace. They also are participating in Pope Francis’s campaign “Share the Journey” by praying for peace in those counties where immigrants and refugees are fleeing from. The School prayed for Peace for our country and countries all around the world. They said a special prayer for those who have been effected in the recent natural disasters and violent crimes; especially in Puerto Rico and Los Vegas. The students held up signs of the countries and said we pray for peace in that county. The sang the songs "Make Me a Channel of Your Peace" (the St. Francis prayer), “Let there be Peace on Earth” and said the “Our Father”, “Hail Mary”, and “Glory Be”.
